From vision to series. Our development process.

We begin by thoroughly analyzing your initial inquiry and documenting all technical, functional and regulatory requirements in a comprehensive requirements specification. This document forms the foundation for the entire development process and ensures that all expectations are clearly defined and aligned from the start.

Based on the requirements specification, our R&D department creates a detailed functional specification. This includes all necessary workflows, technical standards, delivery timelines and milestones. It serves as a binding framework for the development process and ensures transparency and traceability throughout the project.

Once the specifications are reviewed and approved, the development order is officially released. This marks the transition from planning to execution and initiates the coordination between engineering, procurement and production teams.

Our R&D teams – part of the global Glen Dimplex Precision Cooling network – collaborate closely to leverage synergies and accelerate innovation. With over 100 engineers worldwide, we use advanced 3D design tools, conduct FMEAs and risk assessments in accordance with IEC 60601-1 (3rd edition) and simulate real-world conditions using state-of-the-art test benches and climate chambers.

We develop initial prototypes based on the agreed concept and subject them to rigorous testing. These tests validate the technical performance, compliance with standards and suitability for your specific application. Feedback from this phase is used to refine the design before moving into pilot production.

After successful prototype validation, we produce a pilot series (zero series) to verify the manufacturability and consistency of the product. Once approved, this series serves as the basis for full-scale production. Any necessary adjustments are implemented before the final release.

Before serial production begins, we invite you to our production site for a comprehensive delivery approval. Together, we review and validate all relevant processes – from material sourcing and assembly to testing and packaging – ensuring that every detail meets your expectations and quality standards.
